Looking with several markers stakes. |
Looking west. There are the W. Alfred, Amelia, John,
N.G. and an unmarked stone with a foot stone with the initials H.M.
Notice the tops have been replaced for w. Alfred and Amelia. The
rise just behind the stones is the west fence line. |
Looking south into an area which I didn't realize was part
of the plot, but stones and sunken areas are present so we pushed on to
the far row of trees and found what is probably the south fence line. |
Another view of the expanded area. I actually found
5 sones and three sunken areas. |
The cleaned Smith plot with the H. Frank Smith stone
upright and the stone to the right is William A. Smith. |
Looking south into the new area. Three markers are
visible. The yellow tape on the right denotes the west fence
line. The south line is at the edge of the clearing. |
All of this is the expanded area from the two trees
forward. You can see how overgrown it was from the different
colored ground. |
Looking east at what may be the oldest stones. To
the right is the new area. |
Looking north. Look closely and in the left center
are three stakes in alignment. It does not show but they are
aligned with the W. Alfred, Amelia and N.G. stones through the trees. |
Looking south down the west fence line. |
The Smith plot with the Myatt fence post at the
right. It has finally come loose with all the work around it and
it will be replaced into the original spot. |
Looking southwest. H. Frank Smith is in the
foreground, W. Alfred and Amelia are in the background and the uprooted
stump is gone. |
East out the entrance. The buildings in the
background are at the Mark Myatt homeplace location. |
